Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture) is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging. It is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine, which involves the insertion of very thin disposable needles just under the skin on the face and body where needed.

While not a replacement for surgery, acupuncture is an excellent alternative for someone who does not want to undergo a surgical procedure. Facial rejuvenating acupuncture is a much more subtle procedure (which can be a good thing) and does not have the risks involved with surgery. It is also far less expensive than cosmetic surgery and is virtually painless and has no side effects or risk of disfigurement (slight bruising can occasionally occur). Surgery may have an extended recovery period with swelling and discoloration. This is only micro trauma to the skin surface from acupuncture.

The course of treatment is between 10 to 15 sessions administered twice a week for the first 2 weeks and then once per week thereafter, for the best and fastest results. Results may vary for each individual depending on various factors including but not limited to age, lifestyle habits, genetics, sun damage etc. Visible results will be noticeable after 6 to 7 sessions. Maintenance will vary for each individual from once a month to a couple times per year. Results have been shown to last 3 to 5 years. A treatment takes about an hour and a half.

I have specialised training in facial rejuvenation acupuncture, along with this training, I am also fully trained in Tuina massage which is Chinese acupressure massage and also holistic massage, so in addition to your treatment with needles, facial massage is also a part of the session.

Your first session will be a bit longer, as I will have to gather some information about you, your health, lifestyle etc, then the treatment begins and I will insert the needles into acupuncture points on the face and the body, they will remain there for 30 - 40 minutes, then after the needles are removed a soothing, relaxing facial massage to finish. Sessions last up to 1 ½ hours.
